Omega 3 Handout
Women are often asking me for specifics regarding Omega-3's and postpartum depression. If any of you have tried to find dose information, it's limited on the Internet.
Here's a nice handout from Kathleen Kendall-Tackett, Ph.D., IBCLC, who is one of PPD's greatest researchers.
Visit her website for more information and to see about her many books. Hope this helps!

Thanks so much for pointing out this very helpful handout! I had no idea that omega 3 from flax seed was unhelpful for depression....I used to eat it a lot after the birth of my fourth baby, just as one of my preventative measures. (I'd read about it in one of Andrew Weil's books years ago.)
I'll check out this researcher's web site as well.
Best,
Kristin
Kristin,
Honestly that part was news to me too. (And Andrew Weil is one of my personal favorites!!) So far, there really doesn't seem to be a downside to adding Omega 3s into our diets! Thanks for letting me know :)
Hi. I just wanted to let you know I am no longer writing babylune and therefore can no longer be responsible for the accuracy of its content past or present as the people who control it can now change whatever they like. I thought you might like to remove the link in light of this new situation. I do appreciate all your support from my work.
